Home Farm Antiques, member of the Vermont Antiques Dealers Association and the Costume Society of America, specializes in eighteenth, nineteenth and early twentieth century decorative arts, fine art, fine jewelry, antique clothing and textiles, and folk art. We believe that no matter when a piece was crafted, quality is quality and art is art. That being said, we do prefer selling earlier pieces, and we pride ourselves on researching thoroughly each piece we offer, for age and authenticity. Bob and I consider research a major facet of the antiques business.
When we are on our treasure hunts, we look for excellence in materials, craftsmanship and color. We may carry something as common as a cookie cutter, or as rare as an eighteenth century child's court vest, but whatever it is, we want it to be distinctive, unique and memorable.
We have a gallery in the Middlebury Antique Center, in Middlebury, Vermont. We also do a few distinguished shows, such as Barn Star Production's New Hampshire show in August, and the Sturbridge Vintage Clothing and Antique Textile Shows in Massachusetts, among others.
Our online gallery offers small items, with the occasional larger piece. We carry a limited inventory of furniture, which we keep at the Vermont shop and also at Home Farm. When you decide to purchase something from Home Farm Antiques, you can do so in the knowledge that we stand behind what we offer. Every piece is researched and authenticated to the best of our ability. As for our return policy, we understand completely that buying online can sometimes be difficult. If you wish to return an item, we must be notified within 7 days of our shipping that item out to you. We will gladly refund the amount of the item and its cost to ship, minus the cost of insurance, if notified within 7 days of our shipping the package to you. We do refund the cost of shipping, since the buyer must pay to have the item return-shipped and we feel paying shipping for both ways is unfair to the buyer. The item must be in the same condition when returned, as it was when it was sent to you. We do our best to give you an honest description, and in doing so, if we must err, we prefer to do it on the side of caution. We will happily answer as many questions about condition, age, composition, etc., as you care to email us. As for payment, we cheerfully accept personal checks, money orders, Paypal and Bidpay. We do hold personal checks until they clear. We will check our account daily and mail your treasure to you the next business day after your check clears. Layaways are also offered.
