2 Real-Phones c1930 American Electric Co. Chicago
An original Real Phone pair of desk telephones still connected with their fabric covered wiring. Made by the American Electric Company in Chicago c1920 to earliest part of the 30s. Frequently used at railroad and military bases, and also in some homes. This pair has their original wiring. The rich green enamel shows some rubs and chipping and small bits of paint missing from the bowl of the handset's transmitter. All cosmetic wear patterns due to normal use. Metal plaques on each phone are in really good conditon, black with gold lettering saying REAL-PHONE PAT. APPLIED FOR / CHICAGO ILL, AMERICAN ELECTRIC CO. 7 1/4" range on handset, about 4 1/4" high, base diameter 5 1/4".
