Antique Gold Filled Hat Pin With Peacock Eye Scarab Top

    From the age when it was first fashionable for women to cut their hair ~ the early 20th century.  This hat pin is shorter than the earlier Victorian ones, as there was less hair to go through.  The pin dates to c1922, the time when all eyes were on Egypt and the discovery there of King Tut's Tomb.  A beautiful scarab balances himself on the tip of the pin.  Made of peacock-eye glass, the little good luck beetle glows.  His eyes are made of single cut green paste. Only high quality pastes could be cut this well. 

    Excellent condition!  You can wear this pin as often as  you like with complete confidence.  The hat pin 6 1/8".  The scarab 1/2" x 1/2".
