Buttery Soft Leather Field Boots for M'Lady c1900
A distinctive pair of antique field boots for a woman. Their leather is supple, soft and pliable. It has developed a handsome nutty, satiny patina. They have stacked heels and tastefully designed topstitching. The soles are embossed Goodyear Welt and also on the sole across the ball of the foot, is an embossed rectangle with what would have been the maker's signature. It is so worn down, we can't read it. The laces are replacements and too short. They extend only part way up as you see in our photo.
Fabric lining is stamped Wear Proof in tasteful brown ink, fancy font. Stamped in business style font and black ink ~ 164 1162 3415. Stamps are the same on both shoes. No size is marked. Measurements: toe to heel along sole 10 1/2"; width across ball of foot along sole 3 3/8"; height along back from heel to upper edge 8"; stacked heel 1".
These boots are solid, very fine condition with a minimum of wear patterns. Completely wearable, and because they have been properly stored for ages, you can wear them with confidence.
