Girl's Victorian Knit Silk Slippers c1890 Leather Soles
A lovely little pair of handmade slippers for a young girl. Dusty rose silk knit in a smart chevron pattern with ruffled knit lace surrrounding the foot opening. Leather soles are very clean, as is the rest of each slipper. Plush sheepskin lies securely inside bottom, a comfort for those little feet on frosty mornings. There is a very light stamp on the sole of the right slipper which looks like an 8. 7" toe to heel; 2" across the ball of the foot. In lovely, clean condition, showing only minor signs of age.
What we love about this pair of slippers is their silouette. When viewed from the side, they look like they have that marvelous profile of an 18th century lady's slipper, but without the high heel.
