Ribbon Bracelet for Full Mourning c1870
A black grosgrain ribbon forms the body of this mourning bracelet. It has a gold slide on it with a fancy Roman M, framed. The fittings, such as the buckle, are also gold in a pale rose tone. Rolled Gold and so marked. Adjustable. It now forms a 7” circle for your wrist. A simple bracelet worn by those in mourning shortly after the Civil War and throughout the rest of the 19th century. Hard to find, as so many of them decayed, were destroyed or thrown out after generations of being in storage. Free USPS Priority shipping for USA addresses.
