SOLD ~ Art Deco Tea Dress Embroidered Needle Lace c1920s
SOLD * A delicately embroidered needle lace period Art Deco overdress. The pattern of the embroidery reflects the past period, Art Nouveau, with it's graceful, flowing lines. This sheer dress was made to be worn over a slip or underdress. The needlework is skillfully done. We have a picture of Downton Abbey's Lady Sybil wearing a similar overdress atop a lavender colored under-dress or slip. You can wear an under-dress of the same cream color as the overdress, or you can use a different color underneath. This would accentuate the embroidery. Delicate, feminine and yet sturdy enough to wear as often as you please. Hand wash with care and press dry, then lay flat. A light tumble on a no-heat cycle in your dryer is fine. Bust 35"; Waist 34"; Hips 36"; Shoulder to Shoulder 15"; Shoulder to Hem 43". Ladies' Size Small to Medium.
Lovely condition, with only one small area of imperfection in the lace at the back, about knee height. The flaw is a small group of 4 small holes. They are very close to one another, about 1" square. Anyone handy with a needle or familiar with lace or net can fix this. The flaw is pictured in our photos. Free USA shipping, handling and insurance are included in sale price.
