Sandy An Odd Illustrated Book for Children, Publ. 1929
This is a lovely little children's first edition picture book published in 1929 by M. S. Publishing Company in New York. There is no author's name. I found the illustrator's name hidden within the grassblades of the picture on the cover ~ Madge Meyer. You have to search for it.
The book starts with its own story, its pages filled with color illustrations poignantly drawn and painted. Sandy is a little fellow, the middle son of a farmer, and the book is his adventures on the farm.
The book is thin, having only 8 pages. Really, there are 16 pages printed but the leaves are numbered, not the actual printed pages. The pages are sewn together fine down the spine. The whole bundle is a bit loose from the spine of the cover, but still attached. The pages are all clean and without any flaws save having turned to a mellow cream color. The text and pictures are perfect. An odd book from decades ago. 7" X 5". Free USA shipping, handling and insurance via USPS Media Mail.
