Tiny Victorian 14k Gold and Cameo Ring c1885
We’ve never had a smaller ring, nor a more charming one. The rose gold band is beautifully chased with three tulip plants in bloom against textured panels of tiny gold granulation. The cameo itself is hardstone, the most difficult to carve. The fact that the workmanship is so fine on a ring this size is remarkable. The portrait is of a woman who looks like Queen Victoria. Or perhaps it is a cameo of a person known to the ring’s owner. The ring band barely makes it to the size 1 mark on the ring gauge, and this ring has a ring guard to make it smaller! It does not, however, look like the typical child's ring of that period. The design is mature and the workmanship intricate and exemplary.
If the ring is marked, the mark is hidden by the ring guard. The gold tests to 14k solid rose gold with a rich, definite rose color. All in lovely condition. We offer layaway plans and we send all jewelry pieces in individual, appropriate gift boxes. Free USA shipping.
