Violet Corsages in Original Shop Delivery Box c1940
Millinery flowers ~ 64 corsages of violets that are sweet and nostalgic. From the days when Sinatra sang "I’ll Buy You Violets for Your Furs". The violets come in their own flower box. The label reads: DESIGNED BY NORMAN LIVINGSTON. 64 corsages, 60 of them with corsage pins attached, 4 without. The 4 without are slightly larger nosegays and two have their original labels on them. (My guess – the milliner received her/his order for the corsages. The staff was told to attach pins to the smaller corsages. As the pins were being attached, the worker removed the paper label. Either the worker didn’t get to the final 4, or the work order was for these particular corsages, leaving the larger to be pinned at another time. Just my take on it.) Whatever the case, this is a major find! How often does one run into a box of milliner's violets?! The flowers are in very fine condition, although I think a bit of steaming might make them appear more in full bloom. The box is also in very good condition. It measures 30” X 6” X 4”. Each corsage is about 5 ½” long and each violet is a treasure.
