14kt Gold Victorian Ring Hummingbird At Flower

An unusual and enchanting antique ring in 14kt yellow gold.  The  ring face is a hummingbird, one of the most popular birds during Georgian and Victorian eras.  In art and jewelry design, he represented vivacity and the enjoyment of life's fleeting moments.  Tiny wings wide spread in our ring, he hovers over a flower.  Gold drops dangle from its petals, reminding me of falling rain drops. The ring shank is plain, traditional, with shoulders designed to add an eye-catching flash of light. The ring is marked on the interior of the shank, with the mark very worn.
