  • Details

A 19th century folk art gouache painting, this  joyous little Victorian composition celebrates bugs and berry bushes.  Signature at back is for Miriam G. Potter, April 27, 1880.  The painting is in a frame, not original but of the period, and has an acid free backing.  The frame is fitting in theme with leaves, vines and flourishes in red, gold and black. There is a hanging device at back.  Visual image 4 1/2" X 3"; framed 5 3/4" X 4 1/4".  A happy, friendly little painting that, sitting on a foyer table, will warmly welcome visitors, or perched on a bookcase shelf will spark it with color.  Or hang it on the wall in the kitchen where it can keep you company.
