Handstitched Log Cabin Crib Quilt or Lap Robe or .....
Details
A handsome versatile small quilt, perfect for a crib quilt, a lap robe, a wall hanging or a table mat. Completely hand stitched with 7-9spi overall, and handled properly throughout the decades. The pattern is true to the tradition ~ the log cabin theme was carried meticulously throughout. The Log Cabin quilt dates back to America's Civil War. This quilt dates back to the early days of the 20th century. Some of the fabrics date back to the late 19th century. Made of fine choices in colors and themes. Calicos, plaids, checks and florals are in pinks, reds, greens, blues, creams. And they all compliment one another in their common tone....soft hued. The quilt border is edged with piping using an attractive, very soft Federal blue cotton or cotton blend. The fabric overall has softened with age, a positive attribute on a chilly night. The back of the quilt is a single cloth cream and soft Federal blue plaid.
Condition is very good. I find no threadbare areas, no holes, no stains or spots. The worst I can find is a subtle fade to the binding along the edge. 40.5" X 40". Summer into autumn weight.
