Large Copper Kettle 19th Century
A striking antique copper kettle with presence and impact. Very large, very heavy ~ just what you want in a copper piece. Dating to c1895-1910, the kettle is made of good copper, thick and sturdy with a rich, gleaming patina. Tin lined. The kettle has a swing handle of copper with fittings at the handles' ends decorated with solid brass, and a wooden grip. All is original and it's in lovely condition with a minimal show of age in a very few dings and pings. Inside the kettle it is clean and there are no holes or weaknesses. The handle and spout are strong and sturdy. A glowing accessory for your kitchen or your hearth. The kettly, empty, weighs over 6 pounds. Aboout 13 1/2" with handle extended up; body of kettle is about 8 1/2" high not counting the lid, 11 1/2" high with lid in place. 8" diameter at very bottom; 34" circumference at widest part on body. This is a kettle to be reckoned with!
