Mighty Musicians of Painted Wood
Details
A band of 8 talented musicians in dress uniform. Taking his work seriously, each holds on to his precious instrument. We have a the woodwind section (1 flute, 1 piccolo (maybe)), the brass (2 horns), percussion section (1 drummer, 1 cymbal player and 1 musician hitting a round gold painted object with a stick), and 1 gifted orchestra conductor, complete with his baton. Made of wood, painted in enamel. Uniforms are deep, dark blue with gold trim, white sashes or cross-belts, red and white striped pants, black boots, red, white and blue hats. Each has a neatly trimmed mustache and it appears to me that a couple may have dimples in their chins. No, not chips or dents to the face. Simply dimples.
This band comes from the descedants of the same family who brought them here from Germany in the early years of the 20th century. They have been part of that family until now. Each musician is about 3 1/4" tall. They are in very good condition with one small, well-done repair to one arm. Each stands on his own and seems proud of it.
