Antique Mohawk Basket with Color & Curls

A handsome antique basket from Northeastern Woodlands Mohawk tribe.  Decorated with teal and brick red vegetable dyes on the curls, natural splint to the rest.  Time has darkened some of the splints, and left others to their light honey tone.  Roughly 11" X 10 1/2" and 4 1/2" high.  Structurally fine, strong and useful. 

Cosmetically, a bit of wear  in the loss of 2 small loops around the upper outer edge to one side and another of the same sort of loss to one upper corner.  This outstanding basket is ex-collection from the upper Adirondacks, and a little Native American gem.
