Pedestaled Master Salt in Cobalt Spongeware c1820

An outstanding example of the early 19th century footed master salt, done in cobalt spongeware.   Stoneware master salts in spongeware decoration are scarce; we were so excited when we found this one!  The ground is creamy white, and the blue spongework covers the body and descends, accenting the base.   What we love most about this piece, besides its exemplary bold cobalt cobalt, is its excellent condition. No chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs.  Approximately 3” top diameter, 1 7/8” bottom diameter and 2” tall..
